Jillian is studying Materials Science and just finished her junior year at Caltech. She is working with the Atwater group to study metal carbonate precipitation from basified seawater as part of a larger effort to investigate carbon dioxide capture from ocean water. Outside of academics, Jillian enjoys painting, board games, and spending time outdoors.

Áshildur is currently an undergraduate student in a double major of Electrical Engineering and Physics at the University of Iceland. In the Atwater group, Áshildur is researching porous p-type GaN semiconductors for hot-hole carrier collection. Outside of the lab, Áshildur enjoys CrossFit, gardening, and hiking.
