Plasmonics

Dr. Thyagarajan obtained his PhD in Photonics from EPFL, Switzerland for research work conducted in the area of nonlinear plasmonics. As a postdoctoral scholar in the Atwater group (2014-2016), he worked on studying loss mechanisms in nanophotonic systems as well as exploring the use of functional materials for active and tunable plasmonics. Outside academics he is interested in ornithology, wildlife, Indian classical music, painting and philosophy & spirituality. Dr. Thyagarajan is currently a Member of Research Staff in the Hardware Systems Laboratory of PARC, Xerox.
