Stepan graduated from University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic with a Bsc in Biological Chemistry. After that graduated with a master degree in Technical Chemistry at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Austria where the thesis focused on lead halide perovskite quantum dots for light emission applications. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in Prof. Kaltenbrunner group also at Johannes Kepler University, investigating ultra lightweight perovskite solar cells. The work at Prof. Atwater group will be focused on studying the ultra lightweight solar cells for space application. The research visit at Caltech is financially supported by Marshall Plan Foundation.
